Today is an ALERT DAY as we see another system bring the potential for severe storms into the area tonight. Most of Ohio is in an enhanced (level 3 of 5) and the rest of us are in a slight (level 2 of 5) chance for thunderstorms, damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes. Make sure you are receiving weather alerts. This looks to move in around 7 p.m. and last through midnight. Keep in mind that the storms could arrive a bit earlier. We will see some lingering rain into Monday morning.

  • SUNDAY (ALERT DAY) Rain showers and strong evening thunderstorms. High: 71
  • TONIGHT: Strong thunderstorms. Cloudy. Low: 53
  • MONDAY: Few rain showers. Cloudy. High: 59
  • TUESDAY: Sun and clouds. High: 53

The environment is expected to destabilize as a line of thunderstorms races into the region. The Storm Prediction Center expanded the Enhanced Risk (level 3 out of 5) into Central Ohio with our eastern counties under a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5). Winds will be the primary threat with wind gusts over 60-70 mph. However, we cannot rule out some rotation along the line. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Storms will arrive this evening and exit the region by early Monday morning.

A few rain showers are possible into Monday morning as the cold front slides into Ohio.

Temperatures will gradually fall with overnight lows in the mid-30s. Some sunshine returns on Tuesday with cooler high temperatures in the low 50s. By Wednesday, highs soar back into the low 70s. More rain showers and thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday with a potential for strong to severe thunderstorms.

Rain continues into Thursday as the cold front slides through Ohio. Eventually, it will stall over the Ohio River Valley, which will keep the chance for rain on Friday. Flooding concerns will be possible as we close out the work week.
