Washington (7News) — Today was the day people began to arrive in DC.
They were planning a long weekend in town, seeing the sights and looking forward to Monday and the swearing-in of the President.
“We wanted to be here and hear the words ourselves,” said a man from California.
And then they heard the words they never expected. They would not see the President-elect become the President on the west front of the Capitol.

A family that had just arrived from Utah was not happy when 7 News shared the news.
“So it’s official it’s moving? We’re not gonna be out herewow I mean” said Claudia from Utah. Her husband Chris was looking on the bright side. He said, “But we’ll still have a good time while we’re here. We’re excited that Trump’s gonna be the president.”

And then a woman named Peggy approached 7News needing to vent.
“You have 30 miles of fencing you have people from all over the country who spent a lot of money on this,” she said, “How am I feeling? I’m feeling like sad I’m feeling really, really pissed.”
