News of Rihanna’s third pregnancy comes after she shared throwback photos in March showing her in the delivery room when she gave birth to the two sons she shares with Rocky.

“Yes I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses…don’t ask, a lot was happening,” she captioned the photos.

Rihanna is expected to make an appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, where other co-chairs include singer-songwriter and fashion designer Pharrell Williams, Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo, and British racecar driver Lewis Hamilton − all beacons of Black style, in accordance with the theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

NBA superstar LeBron James is serving as honorary co-chair, though he is absent from the event itself. James announced on social media Monday that he would sit the gala out, citing the knee injury he suffered when the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoff series last week.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour is reprising her presiding co-chair role.

Rihanna’s history with the Met Gala

Over the years, the musician, who has a makeup and lingerie empire of her own, has established herself as one to watch at the fashion fundraiser. With daring, often larger-than-life looks, Rihanna’s arrival has quickly become a great punctuator of the evening.

She co-chaired the event herself alongside Wintour, Donatella Versace, and Amal Clooney in 2018.

How many kids does Rihanna have?

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky previously welcomed their second child, a son named Riot, in 2023 after she announced her pregnancy during the Super Bowl halftime show that year.
