Talk about awkward. Both Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan attended the 2025 Met Gala months after their breakup over cheating rumors.
This year’s Met Gala theme is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which explores the history and significance of Black style. Sabrina and Barry made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala 2024, where Sabrina wore an Oscar de la Renta gown and Barry donned a Burberry suit. This year, Sabrina walked up the Met Steps in a red bodysuit and blazer to match, while Barry wore an embroidered suit with a red sash. News broke that Sabrina and Barry had split in December 2024. The two were first linked in late 2023. “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” a source told People at the time of their split. Soon after news of their breakup, rumors swirled that Barry had cheated on Sabrina with influencer Breckie Hill.
Barry addressed the rumors in a statement on X at the time, slamming reporters and photographers for contacting his son, Brando, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend, Alyson Sandro.
. “I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don’t respond to,” he wrote. “I have to respond now because it’s getting to a place where there are too many lines being crossed. I have deactivated my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work. The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them. Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, my character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine.”
He continued, “Dragging my character and everything I worked extremely hard for and stand for. Talking about how I was a heroine baby and how I grew up and dragging my dear mother into it also. Knocking on my grannies door. Sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating him. Thats crossing a line. Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy. I want to provide opportunities for him to learn, fail and grow. I want him to be able to look up to his daddy, to have full trust in me and know I will have his back no matter what. I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all.”
