At the Met Gala 2025, the only thing more difficult than ascending the stairs of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in a pair of towering heels pulled deep from a designer’s archive is earning a spot on Vanity Fair’s best-dressed list. That’s because the Met Gala 2025 brings together the biggest names in art, culture, fashion, film, theater, music, sports, technology, and more—not only to celebrate the spring exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and raise funds for the cultural institution, but to let them show off their best interpretations of the evening’s theme.
In support of this year’s exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the Met Gala 2025’s dress code is Tailored for You, a concept inspired by the show’s focus on menswear and suiting. According to The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the evening’s dress code is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.”
From the earliest arrivals on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet until the final entrances through the museum’s doors, the competition to earn a spot on Vanity Fair’s best-dressed list will be tough. One reason? The Met Gala 2025 host committee is full of style icons unafraid to take fashionable risks. Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams all join Condé Nast chief content officer Anna Wintour as co-chairs this year.
