SAN FRANCISCO – Lanes have reopened following police activity on the Bay Bridge Wednesday afternoon.
At 6:40 p.m., the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management said the police activity had been resolved. The impacted areas included the eastbound Interstate 80 lanes west of Treasure Island.
The police activity prompted a response from the California Highway Patrol, the San Francisco Fire Department, and Caltrans to the scene.
Officials said a behavioral health emergency prompted the police response.
Sgt. Andrew Barclay with the CHP said the person involved in the incident has been taken into custody. It’s unclear if they face any charges.
Residual traffic is expected and drivers in the area should still expect delays and seek alternate routes, officials said.
