Major Steph Curry Announcement Made on Wednesday

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are currently competing in the first round of the NBA playoffs. 

Golden State faced the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of the series on Wednesday night, heading into the game with a 3-1 lead over the No. 2 team in the Western Conference. 

During their matchup against the Rockets in Game 5, the NBA posted a historic note on Curry. The Warriors guard is now No. 18 on the all-time playoff assists list. 

“Congrats to @StephenCurry30 of the @warriors for moving into 18th on the all-time playoff ASSISTS list!” posted the official social media account of the NBA. 

When the NBA announced the historic news in favor of Stephen Curry, they revealed that the Golden State Warriors guard officially tallied 938 assists, up to that point in his career. 

In the game against Houston, Curry passed Bob Cousy for the No. 18 spot on the all-time playoff assist list. The Boston Celtics legend capped off his 14-year NBA career with 937 assists in the playoffs. 

Cousy retired from the NBA as a six-time champion, 12-time All-NBA member, 13-time All-Star, eight-time assist champ and the 1956-57 MVP.

Heading into Game 5 against the Houston Rockets, Curry was averaging 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. 

He led the Warriors to the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference standings. While they entered the playoffs as the lower seed, Curry has helped put Golden State in position to pull off the standings upset and advance to the second round of the playoffs.
