The Golden State Warriors took control of their first-round series with a 104-93 win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, giving them a 2-1 series lead heading into Game 4. Steph Curry carried the load once again, dropping 36 points against Houston’s aggressive defense, while no other Warriors player scored more than 17. It has truly become Steph or bust for Golden State, but their defense has stepped up in a big way, holding the Rockets to under 40% shooting from the field in Game 3.
The Rockets continued to dominate the glass, winning the rebounding battle 51-45, but they struggled to convert that into offense. After exploding for 38 points in Game 2, Jalen Green was held to just 9 on Saturday, and no Houston player scored more than 17 points. With the Warriors hoping for Jimmy Butler’s return tonight, Houston will need a big response from its young core to keep the series alive.
For the second game in a row, the Warriors enter as 3.5-point favorites, but the Rockets are essentially fighting for their playoff lives tonight. So you can expect them to pull out all the stops. Game 4 tips off at 7:00 p.m. PDT/9:00 p.m. CDT tonight, and you can tune in with Sling TV.
