Who will Randy Orton face at WrestleMania 41?
Last night, I wanted to see him wrestle Solo Sikoa. But since he lost last night in a tag team match, it wouldn’t make sense to reward him with a top match. Obviously that leaves Rusev as a top choice to wrestle. I’ve seen people mention adding Orton to the main event, and while he deserves it, you can’t do that. Sami Zayn also deserves a WrestleMania match, so I’d like to see him pop up, but it wouldn’t make any sense. And of course with their partnership with TNA, could Joe Hendry or Jeff Hardy pop up? What about Jeff Cobb, who is reportedly signed and ready to go? Having Solo lose on Smackdown really puts a question mark over Orton’s opponent. That makes it exciting. I’ll say Rusev, but I’m not confident.

It’s expected tonight’s show will last about four hours. The show has seven matches scheduled.

The Roast of WrestleMania will not be streaming or air on TV.
WrestleMania 41 preshow matches
There are no scheduled matches for the WrestleMania 41 countdown show. The show will instead review storylines for the matches scheduled for the main show. An interview with newest WWE Hall of Famer Triple H is expected as well.
Is Dean Ambrose coming back to WWE?
Tonight would be a great night for Dean Ambrose to return to WWE, but don’t expect it. The former Shield member, who ran roughshod through WWE with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, is bound to AEW for the next two years. His contract reportedly expires in 2027. And while tonight would be a great time for a return, why would he leave AEW? He’s the champion, and has been the face of the company since joining after leaving WWE. Unless something shocking happens, it will be a while before you see Dean Ambrose anywhere. Jon Moxley is sticking around AEW
WWE World Collide
Triple H announced today that Worlds Collide will take place in Los Angeles on June 7. The card will feature many of the best luchadores under contract with the WWE. Rey Mysterio will be part of the show, as well as all of the other stars of WWE. WWE will partner with AAA. The show will be start at 3 p.m. at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Triple H mentions Brian Pillman
Triple H said he watched the original Worlds Collide in his apartment in Atlanta with Flyin’ Brian Pillman and William Regal. The trio were working in WCW, which was a part of the original Worlds Collide.
Rey Fenix to wrestle; Mysterio not medically cleared
Rey Mysterio announced that he is unable to compete tonight. So instead, Rey Fenix will have his first Wrestlemania match tonight. Mysterio was injured during Smackdown last night in a six-man tag match. So a different Rey will take on El Grande Americano.
What match will steal the show at WrestleMania Saturday?
There are a few that have the potential. GUNTHER never has bad matches, and for some reason, the world this week said Jey Uso isn’t a great in ring performer. I wasn’t aware of that. I think he’s great. That could be the one we’re talking about tonight. So could the main event, obviously, with the of the best ever in one ring with one of the top two managers of all time on the outside. Paul Heyman might be approaching Bobby Heenan levels right now. But I’m going with the ladies. Tonight, the match of the night will be Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. Charlotte is elite and Stratton proved she can match her on the mic. Now it’s time to do it in the ring. I think she’ll do it.
AAA WWE deal
Triple H’s announcement about Worlds Collide had a huge revelation. WWE has purchased the Mexican based promotion. AAA is a massive wrestling promotion in Mexico. No word on how things will change for the promotion now that it’s under the WWE umbrella.
Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania
The fans were happy to see the former ECW owner at WrestleMania. She started her podcast this week, and last night her husband Triple H was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Stephanie really seems like a good person. I hope I’m right because I trust her. Can you imagine living with what her dad is accused of? She handles it with class. Stephanie McMahon said she was asked to do her new show on ESPN+ “Stephanie’s Places” by Peyton Manning. OMAHA! Stephanie McMahon said WWE has the best fans in the world. She looked really proud while saying it. She looks like she’s having fun.
WrestleMania 2026
Next year, WrestleMania will be held at the Caesars Superdome on April 11 and 12. This was announced earlier this year. But first, let’s enjoy WrestleMania 2025!
Is WrestleMania 41 sold out?
While the stadium is packed, tonight’s show is not a sellout.
Pat McAfee, announcers make way to ringside for Wrestlemania
As the preshow wraps up, we see Pat McAfee make his way to ringside. He’ll be joined by Wade Barrett and Michael Cole tonight, calling the action.
Jelly Roll sings God Bless America
It’s truly an American spectacle when a man named Jelly Roll sings God Bless America to start WrestleMania 41! The action is about to start as soon as the longtime WWE fan finishes up. And he’s doing a great job. As a Flyers fan, it’s odd hearing that song in April. At least for the past decade or so.
WWE Superstar arrivals at WrestleMania 41
They showed CM Punk walk in with a smiling Paul Heyman. They also showed both Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton walking into the stadium. Now they’re showing Uso and Gunther, who will kick off the show. Yeet! Lets get it started!
Newest Hall of Famer Triple H kicks off the show
Paul Levesque welcomed everyone to the show. The show is airing all over the world live. Then we had a nice firework display. Fireworks are terrible. Dogs hate them. Cats hate them. Get rid of them!
Jey Uso vs. GUNTHER
Apparently if you win the Royal Rumble, you have the right to open up Night 1 of WrestleMania. Jey is coming out of the stands, just as he always does. Jey is incredibly popular and he deserves to be champ. I hope he wins. And I love GUNTHER. It’s just Jey’s time. Night 2 might be over by the time Jey gets to the ring. They had a three-hour kickoff show and the entire thing could have been Jey walking to the ring. He’s there now. It’s time for the ring general to come out.
I’m picking Jey to win here, and he should, but GUNTHER deserves a lot of appreciation for what he’s done this year. If he had a bad match this year, I don’t remember it.
The two are feeling each other out, until Jey hits a massive body slam. The fans are going nuts for a body slam. But as he’s going to the top, GUNTHER chops Uso and knocks him out of the ring.
Uso is now getting whooped up, hit with chops and thrown around the ring. But Uso hits a spear and gets a two count, but GUNTHER escapes. He goes back on offense and hits Uso with a superplex type move. But Jey got out. Jey hits a splash but only gets a two count. These guys are bringing it so far.
GUNTHER wants to call it a night. He took his belt and started to walk away, but then smashed Uso with the belt and hit a frog splash, but Uso kicked out. Now he has him in a choke. It’s over, nobody gets out of this. But the fans are yeeting, so … Uso tried to get to the ropes, but GUNTHER pulls him to the center of the ring. But Jey gets the ropes with his feet. He’s still in it! GUNTHER is now smacking Uso around. But Jey fires back with a chop. And another. And a headbutt. They are holding hands and exchanging forearms and clotheslines. They’re bringing it. Uso gets the best of it. GUNTHER goes for a choke, but Uso reverses it and hits a German suplex.
Jey hits a powerbomb and then a superkick. And another superkick. And now a spear. He is climbing the ropes, hits a splash. He goes to the other side and hits another. He’s going to the other corner and hits a third, this to the back. Why isn’t he pinning him? Yeet?
Jey locks in a choke on GUNTHER and he taps out. We have new champ! Yeet!
Jey Uso defeats GUNTHER
Jey Uso defeats Gunther and is the new champion. Jimmy Uso comes out to hug his brother. This is much more fun than last year when they were beating each other up. The brothers celebrate and Jey Uso, who is a very good wrestler, finally wins the big one. Yeet! Jey leaves through the crowd and is now really Main Event Jey Uso. Great opener, great way to start WrestleMania, and great match for Jey Uso, who can wrestle.
WWE GUNTHER has reason to celebrate
GUNTHER might have lost, but the former Walter proved to the world that not only could he make it in WWE, he can be the guy. After a great IC title run, he did the same with the World championship. GUNTHER losing doesn’t take away his shine. He lost last year at WrestleMania and 2024 turned out OK for him, didn’t it?
War Raiders vs. New Day, Tag Team championship
I was huge fans of the New Day, and I probably would have really been into their turn, but I really miss Big E. I need to give them a chance because Kofi Kingston is one of my all time favorites and Xavier Woods, I still like. He’s better with a trumpet or whatever that was. I never took music. He was talented. The War Raiders are OK. I liked them better in Ring of Honor for some reason. They still do all the cool moves, I guess I just enjoyed watching them live.
This is a weird tag team match. The massive good guys are getting a beat down from the smaller bad guys. This is old school Road Warriors vs. Midnight Express or the Four Horsemen. And New Day are doing pretty well doing their part right now beating up on the War Raiders. It was going well until Ivar took them both out. But New Day regains control. They have carried this match (in terms of offense, not work!). Ivar just hit a massive moonsault on Kofi, but Woods makes the save. He’s massive to be doing that.
The Raiders went for their finisher, but Kofi cheated and grabbed his leg. As I was writing that, the New Day won. Woods got the pin with some help from Kofi on the outside and we have new champions. New Day wins.
Jade Cargill vs. Naomi
Of all the matches, I’m looking forward to this one the least, and not because I don’t like them. Cargill is a star and should be treated as such, but she has to beat Naomi here and I think Naomi deserves better. She’s been everything WWE needed and more since returning and she almost has to be punked out here because she’s the bad guy and Jade needs to be strong and a killer. Hopefully they’ll find a way to keep Naomi strong. There seems to be a lot more commercials tonight than most PLEs. Is that a WrestleMania thing, or is this how it’s going to be going forward?
Naomi is out first. Jade is out next. We have an over/under on how many times Jade does her pose. I have nine. Beverly has 15. Eric has 19. This is Cargill’s first WrestleMania match. It won’t be her last. Cargill is doing all her power moves. She hits a Ric Flair slam off the top rope onto Naomi, who is bumping all over. They go to the outside and Naomi did a Raven sideways smash off the guard rail. But before Jade can gain an edge, Naomi goes to the eyes and takes over. Naomi stalks Jade outside the ring and throws her back in.
Naomi is getting in way more offense than I expected, and that’s good. She’s actually controlled the bulk of the match after bouncing all over for Cargill at the start. But she’s unable to pin Jade. Naomi hits a chop block. Cargill responds with a back breaker, but she hurt her knee in doing so.
Cargill gets control, but Naomi fights back. This is way closer than I thought it would be. Happy for Naomi. I don’t think Jade understands the fans are a lot quieter in an an arena. When she hits big moves, she looks disappointed the fans aren’t with her. They are, it’s different.
Naomi hits a split-legged moonsault and got a 2 1/2. Jade says bring it here and Naomi hits a superkick. And a second. Naomi puts the Rings of Saturn on her, but Jade powers up. Jade lifts up Naomi and hits a popup powerbomb. Then hits her finisher and that’s it. Jade Cargill wins but Naomi had a great showing!
The match wasn’t perfect, they had some points where they needed to regroup, but they did it. Jade leaves strong, Naomi didn’t get crushed. I’m pleasantly surprised with the result.
Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight
Does this match feature two of the best in WWE? YEAH! Has LA Knight had a great run as U.S. Champ? YEAH! Is he going to get eaten by a Samoan Werewolf? YEAH! As you saw with the last match, I rarely know what I’m talking about, but as you see Fatu come out with Solo Sikoa, I can’t help but feel sad for Solo. He main evented Summer Slam. Now he’s a midcard valet. He’s way too good to be that. But Fatu comes out alone, sending Solo back.
If Roman wins, and Jey wins, and Jacob Fatu wins, the new Bloodline could be in good shape. They could do an All-Star Bloodline maybe? I miss the Bloodline. That was the best storyline that I can recall, and Cody’s year, while fun, lacked the twists and turns. is so good, he needs to be part of something big. It can start with him winning the title here.
I feel bad advocating for Knight to lose. He’s routinely the most entertaining part of Smackdown. We are off and both guys are exchanging offense. Neither guy has had an edge until Fatu hits a powerslam and gets a two count.
Knight gets back in control and hits his springboard elbow on a standing Fatu, but only gets a two count. And Fatu regains control. He went for his springboard moonsault, but Knight pushed him off and then hits a release German suplex from the middle rope, but only gets a two count on Fatu. Fatu regains control and hits three butt avalanches. He then hits a swanton on Knight, but Fatu only scores a two count. Hope he doesn’t fade away and classify himself as obsolete.
Fatu hits a headbutt, goes for his moonsault, but Knight hits his finisher while Fatu was flying. But Fatu gets to the ropes. Great move. Now Knight climbs the ropes, but he gets caught. He gets superkicked off the top rope, Fatu hits a senton while Knight is on the rope, then a Samoan drop from the top rope, two moonsaults and we have new champion. Jacob Fatu defeats LA Knight.
Jacob Fatu defeats LA Knight
Great match. The two really left it all in the ring. This is the first of many championships for the former MLW star. He is only going to get better and he’ll soon be closing this show. The future is bright, but I can’t wait for Bronn Breakker vs. Fatu. That’s going to headline a few Mainas, if ya ask me.
Rey Fenix vs. El Grande Americano
This WrestleMania has been snake bitten. This match isn’t as fun with Fenix as it would be with Mysterio. I can’t see them beating Fenix here, so whatever they were going to do with El Grande Americano (EGA) they can’t do now. This is silly WrestleMania match. I’d have no problem with Fenix vs. Chad Gable though, so I guess I should shut up!
The match starts off with a Frankensteiner by Fenix, who gets a two count on EGA. He kicks out, now they are doing some flippy stuff, that’s fun to watch. Fenix hits a dropkick that sends EGA to the outside, then he hits a crazy high cross body. Fenix looks to hit a springboard move, but EGA moves and hits a release German suplex.
This is a good match because Gable is so strong and Fenix can fly anywhere. Gable just hit a 450 moonsault. I never saw that before. He just twisted and crushed Fenix. EGA tries to unmask Fenix, but he’s unable. Fenix tried to walk the top rope but EGA shook the rope. EGA loads his mask behind the refs back. Fenix hits a kick, but hurts his foot on EGA’s mask. Fenix is stuck in the ankle lock. Fenix tries to get to the ropes, but is unable. Fenix escapes, goes for a flying headbutt, but hits the loaded mask. Gable hits a flying headbutt and gets the win.
So El Grande Americano defeats Rey Fenix.
Shawn Michaels makes appearance
Mr. WrestleMania comes out to a huge ovation. If it doesn’t sound as loud, it’s because it’s in a stadium. It’s really weird how science works. HBK comes out to talk about the card.
WrestleMania 41 attendance
It’s a sellout. There are 61,467 people at WrestleMania 41, according to HBK. Good for WWE. They sellout everywhere.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair
OK, why is the champ coming out first? She comes straight out of a Barbie box and hits the ring. Can’t understand why Charlotte is coming out second. Not a fan of that. And I’m not a Charlotte hater. I think she might be the best wrestler out there. But it’s Tiffy Time. Next out is the challenger. She’s pulling up in a Rolls Royce and looks like her dad pulling up at Texas Stadium. Very cool. But she should have been out first.
The women are in the ring, it’s time to kick it to Alicia Taylor to get it started! Charlotte is announced first and that’s the loudest the fans have been all night. They hate her. Stratton is getting cheered as loud as anyone but Jey Uso. Yeet? Yeet! Stratton stepped up on the mic a few weeks ago. Tonight, can she do it in the ring. And that’s not a shot at her. She’s very good, and for her age and experience, great. But she’s not Charlotte.
The two start brawling, which is great. This is how it needs to be. Flair got the better of Stratton, but Tiffy comes back and hits a double stomp after tying Charlotte to the tree of woe (stolen from Joey Styles). It spills to the outside where Flair hits a back suplex on the guard rail, and Tiffany is down. I always type Tiffy because that’s what she says. If I do that, it’s not disrespect!
Flair is whooping up on Stratton, and Stratton has no answers. Flair is dominating. They did a move where Stratton was supposed to take a neck breaker and Flair grabbed her by the hair and sent her where she wanted her. That looked rough. But Tiffany Stratton comes back with some handspring elbows and a spinebuster.
Stratton went for her moonsault, but Flair got out of the way and Stratton landed on her feet. They both hit some moves, I think Flair is unhappy with this match. She hits a few chops while Stratton is on the ground. Either they’re making it look like the match is off the rails and Flair is annoyed, or this match is of the rails.
Stratton is getting some offense in. But Flair responds with a powerbomb and goes for the cover. Flair looks livid. She hits a big kick. and is now going after Stratton’s leg. Stratton escapes but eats an elbow. Flair went for a moonsault, but Stratton cuts her off.
Flair regains control and goes for a crossbody, but Stratton rolls through and gets a two count. Flair went for a moonsault, but Stratton pushed her off the ropes and Flair has hurt her knee. But she rebounds and goes after Stratton’s knee, wrapping it around the ring post.
Flair locks on the figure four, but Stratton punches Flair’s knee until she releases it. Stratton hits a chop block. She hits a moonsault but Flair gets the knees up and gets a two count. Now both women have injured legs.
Flair hits natural selection, but Stratton kicks out. Flair looks mad. Flair slaps Stratton, hits a chop block, tries to hit a whiplash, but Flair doesn’t take it. Stratton hits a senton, the prettiest moonsault ever and Tiffany Stratton retains the title.
Hall of Famers take final bow of weekend
The class of 2025 was introduced. Steve Austin and Bret Hart seem to be having a ball. Triple H is the last one out with his theme music. He deserves it. This dude is busy. You know he’s got to run back and produce this last match. But he took time to shake everyone’s hand. Then spits water all over and acknowledges the crowd. It’s fun to see the Natural Disasters as part of this. And Michelle McCool. She deserved it. I remember when she blogged about all of her opponents, and she went out of her way to praise almost everyone. I liked her a lot after that. It’s easy to be a jerk, it’s hard to say your opponents made you look good. She did that.
CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns
It’s main event time. Tomorrow night will be great, Cena-Rhodes will be fun with all the chaos, but this is the match everyone I know is looking forward to the most. Tonight was a well paced show. Seven matches in four hours isn’t bad at all.
While tonight hasn’t been a disappointment, tonight hasn’t been one of the best PLE’s of the past year. They set the bar high with all the great shows they’ve presented. But the three guys in this main event are one of the reasons the PLEs have been so good, so they can change it in a heartbeat. I can’t get over all the commercials tonight.
My pick, Seth Rollins is out first. He’s a visionary. He is a revolutionary. And he has a flame thrower. Let’s see Eric’s boy Punk have one. And what’s Beverly’s problem? How cool are flame throwers?
Next out is our Tribal Chief. He is alone. When’s the last time he came out alone? At least he has his Ufa lafa. And he throws his one up and makes it to the ring. You got to say Roman doesn’t need to do much to make his entrance cooler. He’s just a bad dude who is coming to kill ya.
