The beloved Marvel character Silver Surfer finally swoops into the MCU in the new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Julia Garner portrays the galaxy-hopping herald in the upcoming blockbuster, where the character warns the Fantastic Four — Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing — of the coming of Galactus, the giant cosmic being who feeds off the energy of worlds; in this case Earth’s, as the planet has been “marked for death,” the Surfer informs.
The new trailer also adds some complexity to the storyline as Kirby’s Sue Storm reveals that she’s pregnant at the time of the impending invasion. “We will face this together. We will fight this together. As a family,” Storm says in the trailer.
The latest preview ends with a Godzilla-sized Galactus stomping down a city street.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25. In addition to the aforementioned cast, Ralph Ineson voices and motion-captures Galactus, while Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne are also involved.
While the Fantastic Four movie takes place on a parallel Earth separate from the long-running MCU, the characters will somehow get swept into the main timeline as the four main actors have already been announced among the enormous cast of Avengers: Doomsday, arriving in May 2026.
