The timeless Justin Rose has again proven why he is one of England’s finest by stealing a solo lead after the first round of the 89th Masters at Augusta National. Born in South Africa, Rose reportedly broke 70 at age 11 and rose to prominence on the European Tour before his debut PGA Tour win in 2010 at the Memorial Tournament.

In the years to follow, he mustered three more Tour wins before his crowning glory, a two-stroke victory at the US Open in 2013. Since this seismic feat, the iconic English former World No. 1 has tasted PGA success on six other occasions but has never quite been able to snatch a second major, often playing second fiddle at Augusta and The Open.

Rose has now carded a stunning 65 at the Masters, which featured eight birdies and leads the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Ludvig Aberg on -7. However, while holding to such a lead in Georgia is no mean feat, the 44-year-old will be eyeing up that Green Jacket. We take a look at current Masters leader and Ryder Cup hero Rose’s life off the course, including his net worth, his wife who ended an argument with his caddie, and his LIV Golf stance.

What is Justin Rose’s net worth?

Rose is a PGA Tour stalwart, and a staggering 13 years separate his first and most recent win. It was at the 2023 At&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where Rose was last victorious, and he pocketed $1.6 million for his efforts.

The Olympic gold medalist earned a little less than that sum for his 2013 major win – $1.4M to be exact – but if he can hold on and upset the odds at Augusta, he’ll see a healthy sum of roughly $3.6M come his way.

In total, throughout his time on the PGA, European Tour, and beyond, Rose has accumulated a net worth of $40M, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Who is Justin Rose’s wife?

The 44-year-old married longtime girlfriend and international gymnast Kate in 2006 – having met in 2000 – and the pair are closing in on two decades together.

Last year, an incident involving Rose’s other half proved just how strong of a match the pair are. Before the Ryder Cup in 2023, it was announced that after four years apart, the English ace would be reunited with former caddie Mark ‘Fooch’ Fulcher.

The pair fell out in 2019 and went their separate ways, but since rekindling their relationship, Rose has seen an upturn and was aided to success in Rome, as well as a heroic second-place finish at The Open Championship in 2024. It was, in fact, Rose’s wife who can be credited with bringing the pair together again, as the caddie opened up about Kate’s call that inspired the reunion.

“‘Does Fooch fancy coming back? The old boy’s a bit miserable,'” said Fulcher of Rose’s wife Kate’s call to his wife Adrienne. “And I think my wife was saying, ‘My old boy’s a bit miserable. He’s drinking too much wine and sitting on the couch, so why not come back?’

“Mrs Rose gets what Mrs Rose asks for, and she’s amazing. She’s always been a huge backer of me. We got to Wentworth and got to the house, and it didn’t feel like those years had gone past at all.”

Now, the duo is taking the greens of Augusta National with ease, and Rose may have the helpful Kate to thank for carding his opening 65 on Thursday.

Justin Rose’s LIV Golf stance

While many of Rose’s PGA Tour colleagues have jumped ship for the lucrative LIV Golf in recent years, the Englishman has taken a clear stance on the matter.

“For me, it was always I could never get comfortable with the giving up on the childhood dreams of the majors,” said Rose when asked about the prospect of joining the rival league.

“I just couldn’t see that changing anytime soon. I was in a position, a situation where I was having to earn my way into them, so I didn’t have those long-term exemptions to buffer it.”

Now, those childhood dreams of claiming major titles could be on the verge of realization in Georgia, with Rose’s decision to decline LIV seemingly paying off in the form of a bonafide Green Jacket tilt.
