Stop me if you’ve heard this before—after another winless postseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to bring back HC Mike Tomlin for another season.
On Sunday—less than 24 hours after Pittsburgh’s embarrassing Wild-Card loss to the Baltimore Ravens—Steelers insider Gerry Dulac reported the growing fears that Tomlin’s return in 2025 may be realized:
“The Steelers are not planning to make any move involving coach Mike Tomlin, according to team sources.”
If the Pittsburgh Steelers keep Tomlin at the helm heading into 2025, will a potential rebuild be put on the back burner in favor of another ‘win-now’ philosophy?
How much longer will Steelers fans have to endure the mediocrity of Tomlin’s so-called winning seasons? The Steelers organization’s loyalty to Tomlin—and his loyalty to his average-at-best coaching staff—is the reason this team has failed to win a playoff game in what will be well over 3,000 days by 2025.
Until more information is made official, fans should treat everything as speculation—but if Tomlin does remain, here’s to another reload this offseason.
