Warriors Make Stephen Curry Announcement During Trail Blazers Game

The Golden State Warriors are currently facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers on the road in a crucial Western Conference matchup.

Golden State got off to a hot start in the game, leading Portland 26-20 after the first quarter and they have continued to play well during the second quarter.

Buddy Hield has led the way for the Warriors thus far as he has scored nine points off the bench while Stephen Curry has added seven points of his own.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Curry went to the locker room shaking his right thumb in pain during a timeout early in the second quarter.

Golden State then announced that Curry is questionable to return due to a right thumb injury as he has continued to stay in the locker room.

This is a massive blow for the Warriors with the playoffs right around the corner and the team still fighting for a better seed in the Western Conference.

Of course, the best scenario is that Curry ends up returning to Friday’s game but if he is unable to do so, it would be a massive blow to Golden State’s playoff chances.

Golden State currently sits sixth in the West standings but with how jumbled the standings are in the West, Curry’s injury could cost them a playoff spot where they would instead have to make it out of the Play-In Tournament.

Of course, this would be the worst-case scenario for the Warriors as they would then have to either face the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Houston Rockets in the first round depending on whether they get the seventh or eighth seed.
