After a successful homestand, the Detroit Tigers are back on the road this weekend, as they pay a visit to the Minnesota Twins for a three-game series, starting on Friday night.
The Tigers head into the Twin Cities with loads of confidence. After having a rough start to their season against the Los Angeles Dodgers, they grabbed two of three from the Seattle Mariners. That carried into their first homestand, which saw Detroit sweep another American League Central rival, the Chicago White Sox, before winning two of three from the New York Yankees.
The tough start against the defending World Series champions brought up some cause for concern, but going 5-1 at Comerica Park has renewed the spirit in Tigertown.
The Twins have had a bit of a bumpy start to the young season. They were swept by the St. Louis Cardinals on the road before taking two of three from the White Sox. They have since lost four of their past six games following a four-game set against the Kansas City Royals.
