FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (WSIL) — A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for several counties in southeast Missouri and reaching into southern Illinois.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis issued the winter storm warning for Illinois counties which include Randolph, Washington, Clinton and Marion. This also goes for some Missouri counties including Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois Crawford, and Washington counties. This winter storm warning is in effect starting at 10 p.m. on January 4th, through 10 a.m. on January 6th.
Accumulations for snow and sleet could reach up to 2 to 4 inches in locations, with ice accumulation up to two-tenths to half-an-inch.
Power outages and tree damage are likely, with traveling being nearly impossible.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis also issued an ice storm warning for Madison, Iron and Reynolds counties in effect from 10 p.m. on January 4th, through 10 a.m. on January 6th.
Power outages are expected, along with trees damaged due to the ice.
The National Weather Service stated ice accumulations could be one-half to three-quarters of an inch and snowfall amounts as much as two inches in some locations.
Road conditions are expected to be hazardous for those commuting.
