JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The K8 Storm Team warns more severe weather could be in store for Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.
Thursday, the severe threat level decreases from Wednesday’s extreme levels to a medium threat, mainly for southern counties in Region 8.

Storm damage Wednesday night caused several school districts in Northeast Arkansas to cancel classes on Thursday.
Severe storms are not the only threat facing Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.
“Once the rain starts Wednesday, it will not stop until Sunday,” Meteorologist Kristina Balentine said. “In that time, we could see 6-12 inches of rainfall across Region 8.”

The National Weather Service offices in Little Rock and Memphis have issued River Flood Warnings and a ‘Particularly Dangerous Situation’ Flood Watch in anticipation of excessive rainfall over the next few days.
