Tornado warning issued for parts of New Jersey Monday night

A tornado warning has been issued for part of New Jersey Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS Mount Holly issued the warning until 10 p.m. for the central part of the state, including Tinton Falls, Eatontown and Red Bank.

The entire state is being hit with heavy storms and thunderstorms Monday night pushing eastward, the NWS said.

“We are expecting severe thunderstorms with the potential for strong winds and flooding across the state. Please drive with caution and avoid flooded areas,” Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted.
