Severe thunderstorms are making their way into the Tri-State late Friday night into early Saturday. The National Weather Service has said that strong storms and tornadoes are possible.

The National Weather Service reported a wind gust of near 60 mph at 3:14 a.m. at Evansville Regional Airport, along with pea-sized hail.

Hart added that the storms likely would arrive in the Evansville and Henderson areas around 2-3 a.m. CDT.

With severe weather in the forecast, power outages could be common.
Depending on the service in your area, you can check the latest status of your power outage, how widespread the outage is, an estimated restoration time and more.

Duke’s map also has the ability to show outage histories and a current summary of known issues and how many customers are impacted.
Kenergy power outage map

8:30 p.m.: ‘Particularly dangerous situation’ tornado watch issued for Tri-State
The National Weather Service has iessued a tornado watch with a “particularly dangerous situation” qualifier attached to it.
The agency uses the language when it believes “long-lived and intense tornadoes are likely.”
