Anybody watch the end of the DePaul vs Creighton game last night? Holtmann and DePaul had an 11 point lead with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. They blew the lead and lost in OT. I’ve NEVER seen a team blow an 11 point lead with less than 2 minutes to play. There is not a worse end of game coach in the history of basketball than Chris Holtmann. We saw it first hand for years and years.

Unfortunately, Diebler might have learned too much from Holtmann. Almost impossible to “undo” the imprint Holtmann bestowed upon Diebler. The end of the Nebraska, Indiana, and Iowa games looked like a Holtmann special. Buckeye Nation will know the administration is serious about basketball again when a real search for a head coach begins. Being two wins away from being the 68th team selected to the Big Dance should never be “excellent” as Bjork called it.
