64′ Manchester United 2-1 Real Sociedad (3-2 agg.)

Again, it’s harsh on Real Sociedad.

It was lovely build-up play from Manchester United, Rasmus Hojlund holding the ball up well and dropping it off.

Joshua Zirkzee, who has had some really nice touches, rifled it through with a searching ball behind the Real Sociedad defence. Once again, La Real were too high and there was lots of space for the rapid Dorgu to run into.

Aramburu was behind the Dane, knew he was in trouble, and put his arm across Dorgu to try to slow him down. Then he sort-of slipped (accidental, I think) and they both go down as a result of that fall.

Definite foul, definite yellow card. But was it the denial of a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity? I’m not sure. It was a long way out and Nayef Aguerd was there to cover.

One of those where it doesn’t get overturned if the referee gives a yellow card at first.
