Tamin Lipsey injury update: Iowa State basketball guard hurt vs. Cincinnati

Despite a terrific game and a good team win for Iowa State basketball over Cincinnati in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday, starting guard Tamin Lipsey went to the locker room late in the second half with an injury.

With just a couple of minutes left in the game, Lipsey gingerly went to the sideline to speak with team trainers before being escorted to the locker room.

He appeared to be in discomfort around his groin area but walked off the court under his own power.

“With Tamin, sounds like something with his groin- he tweaked it, but I think for sure he’ll be fine and he’ll be good to go tomorrow,” head coach T.J. Otzelberger said after the game.

Iowa State was also down fellow starter Keshon Gilbert, so the Cyclones were down two primary ball-handlers for the final few minutes of the game.

Cade Kelderman would be the next man up and played two minutes against the Bearcats but didn’t record a statistic besides one personal foul.
