Hours after her confirmation by the Senate as the new Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard said trust in the US intelligence community was at “an all-time low” and pledged to end what she called “weaponization and politicization.”

“I look forward to working with those who are charged with the critical mission of securing our nation to do just that,” Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, added in a statement from her office on Wednesday afternoon.
