AUGUSTA, Ga. — The most wonderful time of the golf season enters the weekend at Augusta National Golf Club as the beauty of April surrounds one of the world’s most pristine courses. The 2025 Masters kicked off another star-studded affair with an absolutely loaded 95-man field featuring the best golfers in the world, but that competitor list has already been whittled down significantly with some notable names missing the cut ahead of Moving Day.
Everyone remaining in the field is attempting to conquer the season’s first major championship, but they will be forced to go through one of the most staked Masters leaderboards in recent memory. The prize at the end is not only a green jacket and golf immortality but a record $4.2 million winner’s share of the 2025 Masters purse, which is up to $21 million in overall prize money.
Justin Rose has held the lead after each of the first two rounds, but he has been supplanted at the top early in Round 3 as Rory McIlroy has raced out to the hottest start of any golfer in Masters history. Becoming the first in history to score 3s across his first six holes, McIlroy sits 5 under through that stretch with a multiple-stroke lead on the rest of the field field.

While Tiger Woods is missing the Masters for fifth time in the last 12 playings of the year’s first major, the remainder of the field is stocked to the brim with talented golfers. Attending the Masters is a dream for many, but simply being able to watch golf on the grandest stage of them all is an incredible treat each year. We here at CBS Sports are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage of the Masters throughout this week.
For the 70th consecutive year, CBS Sports offers extensive, week-long coverage across all its platforms with its traditional 18-hole broadcast coverage beginning with the third round on Saturday and final-round action on Sunday. Jim Nantz, in his 40th straight year covering the Masters, serves as host for the 38th time. 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman joins Nantz as the lead analyst at the Masters for the third year. Nantz and Immelman link up with CBS Sports’ incredible golf team, including on-course reporter Dottie Pepper, Ian Baker-Finsch, Frank Nobilo, Andrew Catalon and Amanda Balionis.
For the first time, CBS Sports has expanded its broadcast window for the Masters. Coverage begins Saturday and Sunday from 12-2 p.m. on Paramount+ before CBS takes over from 2-7 p.m.
Beyond what you will see on television, Masters Live complementary coverage will feature more than 100 hours of live streaming across Paramount+ and CBS Sports digital platforms. There will be full-day streaming coverage of the Masters across four channels, including Featured Groups, Amen Corner, Holes 15 & 16 and Masters on the Range.
