We’ve hit the midway point of the Masters, and Justin Rose has maintained his lead.
Rose, after a 7-under 65 on Thursday to open the first major championship of the year, shot a 1-under 71 on Friday to keep a one-shot lead over the rest of the field. He’s yet to win a green jacket in his career, though this is the first time he’s held the lead at the 36-hole mark since 2004.

Bryson DeChambeau is a shot behind him at 7-under for the week. Rory McIlroy, despite an awful finish to his opening round, rallied on Friday to get back in contention and hit 6-under. Corey Conners, matched McIlroy in third. Scottie Scheffler, who posted a very casual bogey-free round to start his green jacket defense on Thursday, is at 5-under with Shane Lowry, Matt McCarty and Tyrrell Hatton.
While he missed the cut, along with several other big names, Nick Dunlap recorded one of the best comebacks in major championship history on Friday. After shooting an 18-over 90 on Thursday, he went 1-under on Friday. Though he is still last on the leaderboard, the swing was incredible.
