10 things overheard as the Eagles beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles handed the Kansas City Chiefs a 40-22 defeat in Super Bowl LIX. Here’s some of what Tom Ruprecht overheard at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

  1. “Did anyone remember to send a car to get Travis Kelce out of Pat O’Brien’s?”
  2. “Good news: Mahomes and Worthy finally connected on a bomb! Bad news: There was another 59:50 in the game.”
  3. “I don’t wanna say this luxury box is depressing, but I’m stuck on a couch between Joe Schoen and Drake.”
  4. “It’s not a good sign that Eli Manning had more pressure kicks today than Harrison Butker.”
  5. “No biggie, we’ll get the three-peat next year.”
  6. “Tonight’s celebration will haunt Kellen Moore next season when he stands in a ghostly quiet Superdome as the Saints drop to 1-13.”
  7. “Umm, let’s see, ‘highlights’? Uh, the McConaughey-Ditka commercial was kinda funny, I guess.”
